CTFRM report fulfills LTTE’s needs - JHU

JHU secretary, minister Patali Champika Ranawaka labels the final report of the Consultations Task Force on Reconciliation Mechanisms (CTFRM) as a fulfillment of needs of the LTTE loyalists.
Ranawaka told journalists in Colombo yesterday (11) the report elaborateed on the rights of the Tamils, while making no mention of the rights of the Sinhalese.
Tamils now enjoy economic freedom in every manner, but the Sinhalese as well as the Muslims in the south are yet to have same level of freedom now in the north, he said.
The CTFRM does not say a single word about the settling of the Sinhalese and Muslims in the north, which should take place in the same manner Tamils come to live in the south, Ranawaka insisted.
He went onto say that Buddhism still did not enjoy the position of a state religion.
JHU national organizer Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe told the media briefing that the CTFRM report was one against the country that had originated within the country.
However, CTFRM member Gamini Viyangoda has said the government action with regard to their report remained unclear, but that the report would make the government to take positive steps to ensure justice.
